SAS “Moon, Mars and more” event postponed

*** SAS Members *** We have our pick of what appears to be a string of several nice nights beginning on Friday, 3/19. The best of them seems to be Saturday night, 3/20. It should be clear and around 40 degrees at sunset, so we’re going to hold our Moon, Mars & more” event to Saturday, 3/20. Hope to see you there!

Off and running!

Well, I think our first session of 2021 was a success!   We had a pretty good turnout for a cold March night. Eight people attended. Skies were crystal clear until about 9:30 when clouds rolled is from the Northwest. It was in the low 30’s, but no wind so it wasn’t too bad. First session of 2021!

SAS Members.. We are a “go” for tonight’s observing session at Darling Hill Observatory! If you’re planning to join us, please be aware that you’ll probably have to park at the base of the hill along Strong road and hike up the hill to the observatory building. We had a path cleared up the hill, but there’s no way to turn around at the top and drive down. Bring a flashlight with you for when you’re hiking back down the hill at night.
