*** SAS Members *** Our observing session scheduled for tonight (Friday, 8/27) is on! Come and join us at Darling Hill Observatory off of Route 81 south (Exit 14). All are welcome!Please dress warmly. Long pants, a long sleeve T-shirt and a jacket or sweater is recommended. Bug spray and a bag chair are also helpful. Oh.. and please don’t forget a mask!
*** SAS Members *** Rain, wind, clouds, and the threat of thunderstorms are predicted for Friday night. So, we’ve have decided to postpone our public observation session, called “Moon and Planets Night”, to Saturday night instead. The public is welcome to attend this free session, which will be held at our Darling Hill Observatory, starting at dusk on Saturday, August 14. In addition, we request that everyone that attends Saturday’s observing session please wear a mask. See you on the hill!

We will have a window of about 3-4 hours after sunset to observe before the gibbous moon rises at about midnight. It will be in the mid-50’s tonight, so dress appropriately. See you on the hill!
