An occultation of Saturn by the moon will be visible in Syracuse on August 31st from around 13:32 to 13:57. I don’t know how it will look in daylight. More information can be found at Curt Renz’s WWW site with a map.
I have old copies of Astronomy Magazine (Sept 93 to Feb 07 (mostly inclusive)) and Sky and Telescope (Feb 02 to March 09 (mostly inclusive)) free to a good home.
