Moon night is a “Go”

*** SAS Members ***

We’ve decided that an abbreviated public session is better than no session at all.  So, we’ll start earlier (at 7 PM) while the sun and Moon are still above the horizon and the clouds are fewer.  Then quickly slew to as many targets as possible before the clouds roll in around 10 PM.

Bring a jacket and mask, even if you’re fully vaccinated. The grounds may be too soggy to park on, so you may not want to wear flip flops to walk the last 100 yards.

The next Moon Night is May 21 or 22.

Planned targets for tonight:  Visual with Cave telescope eyepieces.

Moon

Mars

Orion nebula

Pleiades cluster

Asteroid 4 Vesta

Comet 50P
